Lunar Peltasts

These are Black Tree Design Persian Guards.  I've replaced the shields with peltast-style ones from the spares box.

These guys represent the Silver Shields - a peltast regiment listed as part of the Lunar garrison in the Pavis boxed set.

A Couple of Lunars

Gregory invited me to post here some years ago but I've been away from Glorantha for a while.  However, here are some Lunars I painted for Song of Blades and Heroes.   I see them as representing urban members of the priesthood of some Lunar cult.

Both figures are from Foundry's Gladiators range, from the Saleh's Survivors pack.  The chap above is listed as Charon the Stygian Boatman.  I think the hammer was for finishing off wounded gladiators.

And this is Hermes Psychopomp from the same Foundry pack.  He works for me as a junior Lunar priest ready to fight off those who would interfere in an important ritual.

Those miniatures were painted in the 80' by my friend JFB. For many many years, I tried to copy his dirty/muddy style. The minies were painted with Enamel paints. I still love their feeling.

Lunar Soldiers and chief

I have spent a lot of time sculpting lately, here are a few Lunar soldiers I painted up in beween sculpting sessions. Right one is Lance & Laser, the two other are from Ral Partha.

Giant

The figures are a Grenadier Titan and an old Fantasy Tribes female warrior, produced by Citadel in the late 70's early 80's. The Fantasy Tribes figure is there to give an idea on scale, really. The Titan is to be used in my Glorantha campaign as a Lunar mercenary giant (and the regimental champion of the local Lunar bad-guys). At the moment he would be far too tough for my PCs. He has a very nice shield design already sculpted on the shield and looks about right (ie: looking down at PCs!).

Beat-Pot Aelwrin

Beatpot Aelwrin led a slave revolt against the Lunar Empire. He gained his name from his use of kitchen implements as weapons (his cauldron helmet and a cleaver which you can't unfortunately see in this photograph). He was later converted to the Lunar Way by Jar-eel the Razoress.
