Those miniatures were painted in the 80' by my friend JFB. For many many years, I tried to copy his dirty/muddy style. The minies were painted with Enamel paints. I still love their feeling.

Centaur Riders

Manufacturer - Ral Partha and Grenadier A simple and quick paint job on two figures bought cheaply from ebay.

Sable Tribe Founder and Ancestor Spirits

The Founder is based on a Grenadier Swamp Giant with the head replaced by one sculpted from greenstuff. The ancestor spirits are converted from the Tabletop sable and impala riders.

Bison Tribe Founder and Ancestor Spirits

The Founder is, I think, based on a Grenadier Minotaur with the head replaced by one sculpted from greenstuff. The ancestor spirits are converted from Dixon Plains Indians mounted on WestWind Cowboy Wars bison.

Jaldon Toothmaker

This picture really shows that I need to use some matte varnish on my figures. The skeletal horse is, I think, made by Grenadier. The rider is a conversion using the legs from a Dixon Plains Indian brave and the torso from an old Games Workshop barbarian.

Giant

The figures are a Grenadier Titan and an old Fantasy Tribes female warrior, produced by Citadel in the late 70's early 80's. The Fantasy Tribes figure is there to give an idea on scale, really. The Titan is to be used in my Glorantha campaign as a Lunar mercenary giant (and the regimental champion of the local Lunar bad-guys). At the moment he would be far too tough for my PCs. He has a very nice shield design already sculpted on the shield and looks about right (ie: looking down at PCs!).
